I found Craig and his company while doing a Google search. I was visiting the Malibu area from the East Coast and wanted to experience mountain biking the West (which provides very different scenery than the forests of the northeast). Craig was professional, responsive, helpful, punctual, and made the whole experience A+. His choice of equipment, the Turbo Levo, demonstrates his desire to provide an exceptional experience. The Turbo Levo is one of the best eMTBs in the industry. The bike was clean and in great shape. As an aside, if you're new to riding, download the "Trailforks" app. It's the AllTrails equivalent for cyclists and will be helpful if you're unfamiliar with the area.

Absolutely amazing experience. The rental drop off was really convenient and the bikes were incredible. Getting to use the e-bike made even the uphills fun. Highly recommend!

Awesome experience. I was able to create a reservation on short notice, they met me at the trailhead, and the bikes were in great shape and well maintained. The entire package was provided - helmet, pads and gloves. This is all I needed to get out for a ride on my vacation. Super responsive and great to talk to as well.

I strongly recommend Malibu Mountain Bikers mainly because the owner Craig is so thorough, helpful and enthusiastic about mountain e-biking. He helped make my mountain e-bike rental a great experience. He's an experienced mountain biker, he knows so many trails and he provides maps to help you navigate them (and he offers guided tours). The ebike he rents out is a top-of-the-line model and for an extra $15 you can rent a full set of elbow/knee pads including helmet -- everything you'll need. He will even drop the bike off to you. You'll have a lot of fun and you'll be glad you rented from Craig because of the excellent assistance he provides. He genuinely loves helping people enjoy the outdoors.

Our bike ride with Malibu Mountain Bikers was the highlight of our trip to California. Craig was excellent; he had the bikes set up before we arrived and were on the trail as soon as we had the proper safety equipment. I cannot say enough about the experience. We are avid mountain bikers, and the equipment Malibu Mountain bikers provide is of the highest quality. Craig is fantastic to hang out with as well. I honestly didn't think I would enjoy riding with a guide, but it made the trip so much better we didn't worry about going the wrong way; we just followed Craig, and we saw all the best views. As an avid mtn biker I highly recommend Malibu Mountain Bikers. The bikes are in top notch condition. Craig owns the company and he makes you feel like family. I found Malibu MTB by chance on Google. I was just visiting the area and had a free weekend, called Friday evening and Craig went out of his way to help me. The next day I was on an incredible eMTB and on tracks and trails within 15 minutes of meeting Craig at a spot not far from my hotel. He gave me a map and full explanation. He had already cleaned and filled a water bottle, as well as giving me gloves and helmet. It really couldn't have been any better, the service is incredible. Thank you, Craig, I'll be back!

Craig and his bikes were awesome! We took our family on a self guided tour through Malibu Creek state park and managed to climb the Bulldog Motorway (thanks to the e-bikes). Would definitely recommend for all levels of experience, and would certainly use them again next time we have visitors.

Craig took my wife and I went on a tour. It was an amazing experience that was only possible on an e-bike AND with an experienced operator like Craig! We covered so much terrain and saw views of Malibu that were previously only accessible with a day long hike. Thank u MalibuMTB!!!

Short and sweet version: Bike rental was smooth and easy, Craig communicates well and is easy to work with, the bike was awesome, obviously well taken care of for a rental and hardly looked used at all. Well worth the pricing, IMHO. Long version: Did a one-day rental for my dad visiting out of town who would be unaccustomed to the amount of climbing we have out here in SoCal. Craig was awesome, very responsive and easy to coordinate/work with. As I think he's the owner and the only employee, don't worry if he takes a few hours to get back to you, he's running a business and emails are basically same day (or within a few hours at least). Craig advertises drop-off and pick-up options, which were not used as I was riding outside his service range (15mi of Westlake/Thousand Oaks, give or take). I had no issues getting to the location he recommended. The Specialized Turbo-Levo we got was great, it has a 700w battery that still had half a charge after 24mi and 3400ft of climbing (your mileage may vary, my relative only used it on Low boost). My dad had a blast (and enjoyed blowing by me on some of the longer climbs), had wonderful scenery and really enjoyed the ride. Will definitely recommend and be renting from Craig again going forward.

Made contact with Craig through a google search. Arranged all over the phone and met at the trail head. After a short safety brief and explanation of the rules, made payment on site with credit card and began our adventure. Craig is very organized and has things in order for your ride to be successful. Equipment is immaculate and provided by a small business owner with a good personality. Rides and tours are available for all skill levels. Be honest with Craig during the interview so he can identify the best route for your enjoyment. MUST download the “ALL TRAILS” app to assist with trail navigation. The app is $29 but allows you to download maps before you loose internet coverage. Your mobile phone Gps will show your location on a map you can download before you begin your journey. Highly recommend!!

Highly recommend. Graig will take great care of you. He is very professional and has the best equipment available. He will meet you at the trailhead of your choosing and have you riding away in 10 minutes.

Okay, wow this experience is so worth every penny. The owner, Craig is so knowledgeable and makes you feel so comfortable even when you've never ridden an e-bike before and literally have no idea what you're doing. The company provides all the gear and for $15 extra dollars you can rent the full protection to make you feel even more safe. The ebikes allow you to go places you wouldn't normally want to ride to because it would be too strenuous. We rode up a trail in Malibu and the pedal assist function made you feel like you had a turbo boost - it was exhilarating! We made it to the top of the ocean overlook in about 20 minutes and wow, what a view! See pictures! Malibu MTB provides an experience like no other. You couldn't hike the same trail or even bike the same trail without it taking hours to get to the same place. Ebikes are the way to experience the Malibu mountains. We had 360 degree views of the Santa Monica mountain range, the Pacific Ocean, and the beautiful sunset. We brought sandwiches and chairs with us to enjoy the view. Oh and there is a rock labyrinth at the top if you're into that sort of thing! Can't recommend this tour and company enough! It's such an amazing way to experience Malibu!

Craig (Malibu Mountain Bikes) was AWESOME! We rented E Mountain Bikes, they were in fantastic condition and Craig gave us a thorough rundown on how they worked and let us test ride them in our hotel parking lot before we even got out to the trails. Not only did Craig come meet us at the hotel where we were staying at, he also drove and delivered the bikes to where we wanted to ride, AND he had gone out and ridden the trail the day before just so he could give us some pointers! Can’t say enough good things about it, we rode in Malibu Creek State Park and the views were tremendous! Highly recommend. Oh and to top it all off, when we get done riding and got back to the parking lot Craig was there waiting on us to pick the bikes up, we were going to call him and expected to have to wait for a little bit, but he figured we might not have cell reception so came on over! And another thing: Craig even brought us cold towels to cool down with! It was a HOT day, it was completely unexpected and very nice! Craig went above and beyond on all aspects, it was a phenomenal experience and we will definitely look him up again! Another great thing was that Craig is very knowledgeable about the area too, I could tell he knew what he was talking about and I’m so glad we found him and his company. So many places try to nickel and dime you to death, and then they are completely unhelpful/unknowledgeable about where to ride, or what the conditions are like etc. Short answer, Craig/Malibu Mountain Bikes are phenomenal and you will not regret renting from them!

In the world we live in today it seems like the only news reported is bad news but let me set the record straight with Craig with Malibu bikes. There isn't a better person out there! Craig not only rented me and a riding partner amazing mountain bikes that were the best on the market ( E-Bike as well! ) But he actually rode the same route I planned on riding the day prior to scout it out! If you're in the area and are looking for mountain bikes, look no further! This is still not all of the extraordinary above and beyond services he provided. He actually drove the bikes to our starting place and picked them up when we were finished since we were out of town and only had a rental car so getting the bikes to the starting point was tricky. Craig is an awesome guy and I would totally recommend him!!

The Malibu tour is breathtaking and a wonderful way to get a magnificent view of the area. You can see for miles and it is very peaceful at the top. The e-mountain bikes are top of the line and make the ride up enjoyable. The bikes are also available for rent if you want to venture out on your own. This business is a great addition to the area!
